FAQ’s

1What is renewable energy?
Energy from a source that is not depleted when used, such as wind or solar power.
2What is Net Metering?
Net metering allows consumers which generate some or all of their own electricity to use that electricity anytime, instead of when it is generated. Monthly net metering allows consumers to use solar power generated during the day at night.  Annual net metering rolls over a net kilowatt credit to the following month, allowing solar power that was generated in current months to be used in future months.
3Is it expensive to make the switch to solar energy?
Positive Energy Solution offers a customized approach that incorporates solar thermal and photo voltaic technology.  We will perform an energy audit that identifies ways to reduce the amount of energy you consume.  After identifying these inefficiencies we can customize a solution that implements the right technology for your home.  After reducing your overall consumption we'll focus our energy on the most economical way to produce the electricity needed.  Most of our solutions provide no out of pocket costs to homeowners and lower monthly bills.
4Will my solar system still produce electricity when it’s cloudy?
Solar systems require light not heat to produce electricity.  The more direct the sunlight the better, but systems produce electricity even on cloudy days, just not as much.
5What kind of savings can be expected by converting to renewable energy?
While not every home is perfect for solar, some are better than others. That is why it is a good idea to have an energy audit or feasibility study performed.  Assuming your home is viable for solar, a trained professional will be able to make recommendations that will drastically reduce your monthly utility bill. The total savings all depends on your current price per kWh and consumption.
6What about my utility company?
Our experts act on your behalf to complete any necessary paperwork.
1How will installing solar affect my current utility bill?
The energy produced by your solar system will reduce the amount necessary to purchase from your utility company thus reducing your bill.
2What happens when my solar system produces more energy than I need?
Surplus electricityis back fed onto the grid giving you credit on your electric bill.
3How long will it take before my  solar system is installed and turned on?
While there are several variables to consider in order to give a more accurate answer, most solar systems can be installed and turned on between 60 and 120 days.
4How important is the condition of my roof in order to go solar?
Roofs are thoroughly examined for structural integrity and wear and tear before a final decision to install is made.  We reserve the right to cancel the agreement if your roof fails inspection.
5How long will the panels produce electricity?
Positive Enery Solution uses the highest quality tier one panels.  Our panels come with a 25 year manufacturers warranty in addition to a 15 year production guarantee. It is not uncommon for panels to produce electricity well after the warranty has expired.
